BECOME A MENTOR

why is it important to become a mentor?
of repeat arsonists
of pregnant unwed teens
of homeless children
of youth in prison
... are all living their lives without a father!
Many of these youth need a constant figure in their lives who can mentor them, support them through relationship, and help pull them through from one stage of their life to the next.

live life together mentoring program

The Live Life Together Mentoring Program is a community volunteer program. Established in 2016 as a follow-up component, the goal of the program is to enhance the impact on court-involved youth after graduating from one of JIFF's other programs. It serves at-risk youth aged 10-18 who have completed one of our other programs and are at high-risk for repeating offenses.

The LLT mentoring relationships meet for an average of four hours, or more, per month. Our vision is to connect community leaders, business professionals, and individuals living a faith-based lifestyle to strong mentoring relationships with our youth.

Prior to matching you with a mentee, we believe in providing you with the best training and ongoing match support.  You will receive a link to complete an online training from Mentoring Central that aligns with best practices in mentoring.  You will also be referred to Memphis Grizzlies Foundation for an in person training.  During the COVID-19 pandemic all training will be offered virtually.

Lastly, all mentors are required every year to watch this short video as part of their application process so we are in compliance with grants:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90uNM-aZwdI.  Please email volunteers@jiffyouth.org once you have watched this online training video.
