OUR MISSION
mission
To break the destructive cycle of juvenile crime through Christ-centered intervention.
vision
To see youth flourish, free from a life of crime.
"HERE IS WHAT WE SEEK. A COMPASSION THAT CAN STAND IN AWE AT WHAT THE POOR HAVE TO CARRY RATHER THAN STAND IN JUDGEMENT AT HOW THEY CARRY IT."
-GREGORY BOYLE
JIFF embraces justice-involved youth to offer intervention alternatives to juvenile detention. We believe all children are created by God in His image and likeness. We believe all children are good, even when their actions may not seem good. We believe in the redemptive power of Christ through love. We encourage our participants to pursue the future they desire, we support them when they are weak and struggling, and we love them when they feel unloved. As we see the love of God shown to us through Christ, we believe that the oppressed and the marginalized can overcome with triumph and victory if supported, known, and loved. Father Gregory Boyle, founder of Homeboy Industries in LA said, "[our] message is not 'You can measure up someday.' Rather, it is: 'Who you are is enough.' And when you have enough, you have plenty. In this effort, we are always paying attention and are obedient to that." We at JIFF take the same perspective. Our youth are always enough, they do measure up, and they are surely loved.

SUPPORTING LOCALLY OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES:
As part of our mission to reach Memphis and the Mid-South region, we believe in supporting locally owned small businesses.
Do you or someone you know have a locally owned small business? JIFF believes in supporting our community and we are always looking for opportunities to partner with locally owned small businesses specifically in the areas of catering, janitorial supplies, office supplies, and van maintenance. Please email cyancy@jiffyouth.org if you are interested in submitting your request to be considered for a contract with us in these areas.
